Should I explore physical products or remain digital-only?

The decision to explore physical products versus staying digital-only really depends on several factors, including your personal interest, resources, and the nature of your business or passion.

When I was transitioning from a structured corporate life to freelancing, I found focusing on digital products easier and efficient—they offered low overhead, global reach, and immediate market testing. I could iterate quickly without large up-front investments. This aligns with the "Capture" stage of my framework: it’s about collecting and acting upon ideas with minimal risk.

However, physical products can offer a tangible connection with your audience that digital sometimes lacks. If you feel drawn to this space, consider a pilot run. Start small by developing a prototype or limited edition and test the market response, much like the "Develop" stage of my approach. Use this feedback to refine.

Anecdotally, when I first ventured into content creation, I started with an eBook. But as my audience grew, there was demand for more. If you listen closely, sometimes your audience will tell you exactly what they need next—be it a printed version, workshops, or even branded merchandise.

Ask yourself: Do I have the passion to delve into supply chain management, shipping, and inventory? Could my digital skills complement a physical offering? Balance your excitement with practical questions about logistics and scalability.

Ultimately, redefine success on your terms. If blending digital with physical aligns with your vision and values, there's no rule saying you can’t do both. Consider starting with a hybrid approach to see what feels right and what meets the needs of your audience.
