FAQs
-
Mostly nonprofits, government agencies, community orgs, and institutions. These are organizations with set-aside budgets, clear project scopes, and real deadlines.
-
Roughly 60–70%. Think: airports, youth programs, cultural institutions, public health orgs, etc.
-
That’s the goal. Occasionally, a listing below $10K gets through if it’s from a great org or has long-term potential. But 90% of the listings meet or exceed the $10K mark.
-
On average, 1–3 projects a month hit that range. These are usually full-site builds or larger organizational redesigns (including multi-org mergers).
-
Most of the enterprise level projects are beyond the scope of just Squarespace. Think Wordpress/Drupal/Custom CMS. But unless the RFP specifically mandates a platform, you can pitch Squarespace as long as it meets the client’s needs.
-
Again, depends on the size and scope of the project. Most of them explicitly welcome proposals from freelancers and small teams. In fact, they often prefer lower overhead and faster turnaround.
-
I use a mix of search systems, aggregator tools, and industry knowledge to find public listings before they expire. I also teach this process in the bonus content.
